About Me

IMG_20181017_212053_127.jpg

I am an emerging artist who recently moved from Sydney to Brisbane, Australia. My abstract works explore color, shape and texture in context of the social events and visual stimuli I encounter, transformed through my personal reflections and experiences.

Some of my works are directly inspired by Sydney’s Inner West colorful mixture of history and renewal.  They reflect on personal narratives and the process of physical transformation of the built environment brought about by deterioration, growth of vegetation, renovation and adjustments to accommodate our everyday activities. I see the city in constant transition over time which I express with gestural drips of paint and textured surfaces.

Another recurring theme in my art is the interaction of natural and human-made in the urban environment which I explore from different perspectives. I am responding to the beauty and intensity of nature, and the controlled environment in which we experience it. The organic forms and gestural marks are confined in the shape of the canvas or the grid of multiple panels. These works reflect on global issues as urbanization, globalization and climate change through the lens of my personal experiences.
